Our core truth applies everywhere, even on the football pitch, proving our playbook is not bound by environment or application, but driven by culture. Just eight months ago, through our newly acquired football club, HOPE FC, RLabs entered the football space in Cape Town, South Africa, as complete newcomers. The vision was audacious: take the same message of HOPE that has transformed communities globally and anchor it within the grit, discipline, and passion of competitive, semi-professional football.
The season was no fairy tale, it was a masterclass in resilience. The team faced immediate setbacks, navigating agonising losses and a disappointing early exit from the Nedbank Cup right at the start of their journey. But they did not break. They adapted, unified, and brought the exact same operational discipline, work ethic, and structure we run in our digital hubs straight onto the field. They fought through the storm and emerged as the definitive winners of Stream A.
On Sunday, May 24th, 2026, at 15h00, they faced off against Stream B champions, Diadora FC, in the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League Final, and were crowned the ABC Motsepe Western Cape Champions! They will now represent SAFA Western Cape at the ABC Motsepe National Playoffs in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, in June 2026.
To understand the weight of this achievement, you have to understand the landscape: the ABC Motsepe League is the unforgiving battleground of South African third-tier football. Surviving it as a debutant team and winning a stream is almost unheard of. Winning this final changes everything. It now positions HOPE FC just one tournament away from promotion into the National First Division (NFD), the professional ranks of South African football.
The possibilities if they win this clash are massive. It propels our community-driven model onto a professional, national stage, proving that a club built on social transformation, local talent development, and collective belief can even disrupt the traditional football establishment. It also creates a developmental environment for young local footballers to access the possibility of professional football.
This is so much more than a trophy and moving up a division. It is a tangible demonstration of our core truth, that when you build a structurally sound foundation and fuel it with unyielding belief, transformation becomes inevitable.
